Do you want to buy the Samsung Galaxy S21 but are you waiting for a price drop? NextPit has verified Samsung’s flagship pricing history with retailers to tell you whether it’s a good time to buy the Galaxy S21 now or not.

This article will be updated regularly, monthly, and will take into account the major price drops of the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The idea is to offer a “handmade” price tracker to inform you about possible price drops on particularly sought-after smartphone models (feel free to suggest models to watch out for).

Price drop: is now the right time to buy the Samsung Galaxy S21/S21+ or S21 Ultra?

We checked the price drops on these 3 models through various online price comparison sites. Please note that this is not a change in the recommended or “official” price, but rather the average price of the Galaxy S21/S21+ or S21 Ultra. This price is the average of the lowest prices of all ecommerce platforms, including third-party sellers in the market!

We can see that the Samsung Galaxy S21 has had a big price cut in July after an exceptional discount offer from Samsung through its official store.

On the other hand, the price of the phone has only gone up since then, hovering around or above the average price of $750. The device retails for $749.99 on Amazon.

Galaxy S21+ price drops

Price history Price Date Amount Introductory price 01.29.2021 $999.99 Lowest price 09.13.2021 $749.99 Current price 01.28.2022 $899.99

It is almost the same as for the base Galaxy S21. Except, unlike the prices of the S21, which have been steadily rising over the past 5 months, the prices of the Galaxy S21+ seem to have stabilized since late September, when it last dropped significantly.

Its current price is $899.99, which is $150 higher than the lowest price we’ve seen the device at. We therefore recommend waiting for the S22 release (expected in February) or checking out the recently announced S21 FE.

Galaxy S21 Ultra price drops

Price history Price Date Amount Introductory price 01.29.2021 $1,199.99 Lowest price ever 06.15.2021 $899.99 Current price 01.28.2022 $1,049.99

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is arguably the model that has arguably changed the most in price since its release. After selling for just $900 around June, most retailers went back to selling the flagship model at the suggested retail price of $1199.99.

The current lowest price can be found on Amazon, at $1049.99. But for that amount of money, it might be worth waiting for the S22 Ultra (probably in February).

Galaxy S21 FE price drops

Price history Price Date Amount Introductory price 01.11.2022 $699 Lowest price ever 01.28.2022 $699 Current price 01.28.2022 $699.99

The Galaxy S21 FE was announced in January 2022, after months of rumors and (alleged) delays. The entry-level flagship launched with a suggested retail price of $699, and we will update this article with market prices in the next updates.

How does NextPit track smartphone price drops?

Starting at the launch price of each smartphone when it was released, we started by listing the first notable price drop in chronological order, followed by the lowest price ever, then the last notable price drop, and finally the current price.

For our offers, we compared prices between Amazon, the official stores, BestBuy and Google Shopping.

When the price observed on the day of publication of this article and any update is lower than the “official” or recommended price by the manufacturer, we recommend that you buy the smartphone through an affiliated link. If the current price is below the last price drop or even the lowest price ever, we also recommend that you buy the smartphone. Note that this data is manually extracted from the price history of various online price comparison sites.

What do you think of this new layout? Are there certain smartphones I should keep an eye on for price drops? Tell me all about it in the comments.
