Creating photo albums in the iOS Photos app is a quick, easy, and convenient way to categorize and share memorable trips or events. But how do you remove them?

Albums created within the Photos app often have a limited shelf life. If you are in the habit of backing up and deleting older photos to free up storage space, you often have multiple empty albums in the Photos app.

Fortunately, Apple has made it easy to delete photo albums right on your iPhone. Here’s how.

The short version

Open Photos and tap Albums

Open the Photos app and tap the Albums tab, the third from the left at the bottom of the screen.


View my albums and all

Next to the My Albums heading, tap the View All button to view all your albums.iOS photo albums


Edit and delete albums

Now tap Edit in the top right corner. Tap the red minus sign of the album you want to delete, followed by the confirmation prompt to delete album.iOS Photos Delete Albums


Tap Done

Finally, tap Done in the top right corner. Your album is now removed from Photos.iOS My albums Done
